How Do You Find A Median
With the growth of technology, we can easily search for any data to get the answer to the question: “How do I find a median?” It means that if you look up and compare these two numbers, you can immediately see that the number is much smaller than one. This means that it’s not just two numbers but rather multiple numbers. And what does “median” mean?
What does median mean? Read on to get an answer…
There are many definitions of median. The most basic definition is used to describe the middle value of a set of values, usually in a statistical sense.
What is a median in a data
Median is a central value in the data as describing above defination of median. We will calculate median for ungroup and group data.
1) If the sample is odd then simply the middle value is median in ungroup data. Arrange the data is in assending order and selected central one value is median

2) If the sample values are even then similarly arrange the values in ascending order and then select two middle values.
Add two middle values and then divided by 2.
simply the mean of two middle values is median.

3) If we find median for group data then

y is mid points of classes
c.f is to calculate as the first frequency is 6.
So the next c.f is sum of frequency of first class group and the frequency of 2nd class group. So,
The 3rd c.f is to calculate as the 2nd c.f + frequency of 3rd group. So we will add the current c.f in the frequency of next group.
n = The sum of frequency
n/2 = 30/2 = 15.
15 lies in 3rd group
c = previous class frequency of selected group. c.f-1.
Then put all observation in the given formula in the above image to find median.
what is the median of 4 and 7.
mean of 4 and 7 is median.
M.d = n + 1/2
= 4 + 7/2
= 11/2
= 5.5 is median
Median/Average — The Average or mean (not the highest/lowest)
When people are asked the average number of children their parents have, most will answer 3 to 5 children. However, some can also answer 6 to 8. The median is the middle value that falls outside of any upper/lower bound
