How do you find the range in statistics?

Introduction

A range is an interval of values or a range of numbers or data points. For example, the number 100 to 600 represents a range of values from 100 to 1000. A higher and higher value is represented by a larger range and a large range. We say a range is a set or range of values, so we will use ranges for our calculations and numbers.

What is the difference between a range and a bound?

A range is like a boundary. It is also called a boundary. However, a bound means anything above some point on the graph. An interval with a range as 0–10 represents 0 to 10 interval, while 50–100 represents a 50 to 100 interval.

You can see that by comparing a range and a boundary. But a boundary line cannot be drawn here because there are no boundaries to draw. So, a range only describes what values fall inside the given range. A good way to understand the differences is to differentiate two types of variables, continuous and discrete.

What is a Normal Distribution?

A normal distribution is a statistical distribution. When we study normal distributions, we usually talk about symmetries. This means, not all the outcomes are equal for all combinations of variables. For example, in college exam, students of different marks have different scores, which means the grades would vary in class. There would be a lower grade for students who have taken exams earlier. Therefore, the normal distribution is used to analyse the mean and median effect of variable on the outcome. If you take exams again, you may have scored better than your previous year. And if you didn’t, you may have improved a lot but your score would be below the mean (mean) of the group taken.

So, normally distributed variables have been considered uniform. We discuss how to check if a distribution is well-characterised (in other words, if it follows normal distribution). I have explained these concepts in more detail here.

The mean and median mean and median value. The range is calculated by summing up your points in a range, then divide it into three parts. A range for 100 to 1000 is like this, which means that the mean range is around 101. A range for 50 to 100 is like this, which has means around 486 and a range between 50 and 800.
